During my time at AIMS i'd heard many stories about the jetty at night. AIMS sits on a marine protected area, aka: no fishing. This jetty is basically a boat dock that has a huge light on it. At night, this light source creates a small environment that bring a general feeding frenzy. Many marine invertebrates are attracted to the light, and many fish eat those invertebrates and many fish each those fish! I've heard many stories of even seeing tiger sharks down by the jetty at night! Some friends and I decided to go and check it out.

The fish were feeding on prawns and we even saw one eating a squid!

Here are examples of some of the fish that were there and are found in Queensland Australia:

Barramundi: These are recreationally fished and are also known as 'Asian sea bass'.
